Santo Domingo.- The president of Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and the Socialist International for Latin America, Miguel Vargas Maldonadoannounced the meeting of the Socialist International Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean in the country on June 3 and 4.
Vargas explained that the agenda includes addressing various issues of regional interest, including: the increase in citizen insecurity, the phenomenon of migration and the challenge that the populist wave in the region constitutes for democracy.
He indicated that the arrival of the delegates for this conclave in Casa de Campo, La Romana, is scheduled for next Thursday, June 2.
The beginning of the plenary work is scheduled for Friday, June 3, starting at 10:00 am.
That night the hosts of this meeting, the PRD and its president, will offer a reception for the participating delegations.
The work will continue on Saturday morning and the closing and presentation of the Declaration of La Romana is scheduled for the afternoon of that day.
PRD will hold meeting with Pablo Iglesias Foundation and PSOE
Miguel Vargas also announced that this year the Pablo Iglesias Foundation, in alliance with the PRD and the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), will develop the second version of the Cycle of conferences on “Municipal Management.”
The activity is aimed at mayors, deputy mayors, directors, deputy directors, aldermen and members.
The event will take place from Monday, May 30 to Thursday, June 2 at a hotel in the capital.
