Owners of vehicles with legal insurance and full insurance that do not have flood coverage will benefit.
The Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, the Superintendent of Insurance, Josefa Castillo, and the director of the National Institute of Transit and Transportation (Intrant)Hugo Beras, announced yesterday that the Government will deliver a solidarity bond of no more than RD$100,000 to the owners of the vehicles that were affected by the floods on the 4th of this month.

Castillo said that in view of the fact that many of the insured owners do not have the purchasing power to have full comprehensive insurance, including comprehensive ones, the government created the program “Compensation and assistance to owners of insured vehicles affected by the flood in the National District and surrounding areas.

He explained that those interested in receiving the bonus must go to the institution’s User Service Center or upload the documentation virtually through the portal www.superseguros.gob.do, which includes images of the drowned vehicle and original quotation of the damages.
Minister Paliza said that the bond, which the Government ordered through the Superintendency of Insurance, will be a relief for those who were affected by the floods on the 4th of this month.
He revealed that the resources will be disbursed from the national budget items earmarked for emergencies. He estimated that the beneficiaries of the bonus will be about 800.
