They will charge police officers for assaulting a woman in Zulia

The National Prosecutor’s Office 76 will charge the police officers of the Mara municipality, in Zulia state, who at a checkpoint attacked a citizen and broke her cell phone.

The information was released by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, who detailed, on his account on the social network Twitter, that the police officers broke the “defenseless woman’s” cell phone to avoid being recorded while they committed the attack.

They attacked “a defenseless woman criminally breaking her cell phone, while she was recording her repressive procedure,” he said.

After hearing about the case, the Public ministry commissioned this Saturday the 76th Prosecutor’s Office to “INVESTIGATE the events that occurred in the Mara municipality, where police officers at a checkpoint attacked 1 citizen and broke her cell phone to avoid being recorded,” said the attorney general, Tarek William Saab , in a message on Twitter.

Saab recalled that for years the people have been instructed to record all irregular procedures, in order to have evidence and be able to open an investigation.

“For years we have #directed our people to #RECORD live any irregular procedure executed by #agents of the Edo: As well as #RECORD also the bad actions of any person against them: because that helps us to open the corresponding investigations », he added.
