An operation aimed at bars and canteens will be carried out in the district of Colón with the aim of combating informality, violence and reducing the operation of establishments without permits or notice of operation, said District Mayor Alex Lee.

He stressed that this request was made by the representatives of the District corregimientos, who denounced that there is a proliferation of night businesses and that they operate without the respective permits.

“We are receiving complaints from the representatives that they are camouflaging the businesses to sell liquor illegally,” said Colon Mayor Alex Lee.

By assuring that this operation is scheduled for the next few days, and will be coordinated with personnel from the Ministry of Health, Migration, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Compliance Judge and the National Police.

He stressed that the status of the workers will be verified there, that they have their work permits, health card and other operating permits, he stressed that in this way they will verify what business is legal and what business is not or is.

He said that in the case of public easements it is a never-ending evil and it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works, which must be summoned by the Municipal Council so that it can provide answers regarding this issue.
