SILVER PORT. The Provincial Health Directorate (DPS) began the “Vaccination Day of the Americas” at the Doctor Francisco González Hardy Health Center in this Atlantic city.
During the launch of the aforementioned day, Dr. Jhonny Tavárez Capellán explained that this vaccination campaign against measles, rubella and poliomyelitis (polio), is aimed at children.
“From this April 20 and with 10 days scheduled to go forward, we plan to vaccinate 30,164 children throughout the province of Puerto Plata that make up the child population from 1 to 5 years old, to whom the injected doses will be applied and oral,” he said.
While Dr. Ana Lucía Artiles, who directs the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI), encouraged parents to vaccinate their children from an early age, completing their vaccination schedule, which is very important so that infants are protected from Many sicknesses.
There were present the area director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Lidia Pérez, the director of the Ricardo Limardo Provincial Hospital, Dr. Carlos Reyes Salas, as well as several nurses and health promoters who make up the vaccination teams.
Vaccination against measles, rubella and poliomyelitis, in this province of Puerto Plata, will be carried out in fixed places, Primary Care Center, Mobile Points, as well as visits through house-to-house neighborhood associations, since the team of vaccinators who visit homes will be duly identified.
