Immigration authorities of Mexico.

Mexican immigration reserved the right of admission but the Colombian tourists complained that they had all the necessary documentation.

Colombia News.

A new case of alleged discrimination against Colombian travelers around the world was recorded at a Mexican airport, when national tourists were preparing to enter Aztec territory to vacation on the paradisiacal beaches of Cancun, and they were not allowed.

The visitors had bought a tourist package from Colombia to travel to the Mexican resort to enjoy a short stay there.

They bought round-trip air tickets, exchange for dollars and other concepts.

However, when they arrived at a Mexican airport, the immigration authorities of that country prohibited their entry.

According to what they told through a video, they had all the necessary documentation: passport, tickets, day pass, foreign currency, and other documents to remain legal in Cancun.

They alleged that they do not have a criminal record either.

“We bought a tourist plan, all paid, we got to immigration and they didn’t admit us,” they said.

The case that occurred a week ago was reported by a journalist through his social networks.

Visitors were upset that immigration agents did not give them a concrete answer as to why they were not allowed to enter.

In the following video is the complaint of tourists:

It should be noted that to enter Mexico it is no longer necessary to obtain a Visa, however the authorities of that country reserve the right of admission, that is, they can decide whether or not to allow the entry of a tourist to their country.

This was the case for these Colombian visitors who apparently had to return empty-handed from Mexico.

However, this is not new.

It has been a repeated situation with Colombians, even entire families have been ‘retained’ for up to days in airports in the Aztec country.

Other cases

On March 13, 2021, a Colombian couple who chose Cancun to enjoy their ‘honeymoon’ denounced through the microphone of Snail Newswho were discriminated against by the Tourism Police.

On the fourth night they spent in the Mexican resort, the couple returned to the hotel after a party and were arrested for claiming a taxi fare that seemed very expensive to them.

After several allegations, the boyfriend was transferred to a police cell.

His wife went there to whom they demanded the sum of 300 dollars for the release of her husband.

«There they kicked him, between six of them, they hung him from some bars, handcuffed and they repeated to him: ‘We’re going to bite you little Colombian hp’. His wife had stayed at the hotel, she went out to look for him at dawn and begged the authorities to let him go, but her response was to ask for money. He went to the hotel for money and when he returned they told him that it was not enough. They demanded more from him and signed some papers for him, in front of a prosecutor, “recalled the affected person.

In another isolated case, a Colombian model denounced that she was the victim of discrimination upon arriving at an airport in Mexico.

The fact was recorded on March 11, 2021, when he bought tickets to vacation in Mexico.

Upon arrival at the airport, they made several assumptions, including how much money he had in Mexican pesos and where he was going to stay.

“One of the questions that bothered me a lot was why did I come alone?” she recalled.

Then, they took her to a federal affairs room: “Second review, the room sign said,” she said. Before her they took her passport and she was worried.

“Two hours passed and they didn’t tell me anything,” he said in an interview with The W Radio.
