They vandalized the house of Robert Silva

Silva

During the early hours of this Saturday, they vandalized the facade of the house of the president of the Central Board of Directors (Codicen) of the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), Robert Silva, as well informed through their social networks.

“Today my home woke up like this,” Silva wrote next to a photo where you can see a wall on which was written: “Education belongs to the people” and “Robo Silva ctrl+C ctrl+V.” After showing what happened, Silva added: “Aggression and intolerance will not stop the change in education, a process in which we are and will continue!”

One of the first reactions to what happened was the President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, who reacted: «One more reason to continue with the transformations Robert. If education is needed. All personal and professional support.

In the same sense, meanwhile, the Minister of Education and Culture, Pablo da Silveira, expressed himself: “The Uruguay that we do not want.”

During the last week, the ANEP saw a new open front: the rejection expressed by the students of training centers to the educational reform promoted by the government. For that reason, that week there were several occupations in institutions such as the IPA or Teaching, or in training centers in the interior of the country.

“We are going to have the comprehensive curricular transformation underway in 2023,” Silva said at the end of July.
