The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, urged citizens this Friday to enforce the regulations of the Special Law for Workers with Disabilities, approved this Thursday by the Venezuelan Parliament.
In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Rodríguez pointed out that he is coordinating with the Ministry of Labor and with the Executive Vice Presidency, to coordinate and apply the regulation as soon as it is ready.
Specifically, the Organic Labor Law establishes in article 290 that 5% of the payrolls of companies and institutions must have people with some kind of disability.
“We all have to comply with what is established,” she stressed during a day of street parliamentarianism in the state of Aragua.
He stressed that the recently sanctioned Special Law for Workers with Disabilities was drawn up from the testimonies of the sector.
“Starting today, everyone, collectives, state representatives, social movements, will be distributed so that the law is complied with, so that 5% is complied with,” added the parliamentarian.
Similarly, he highlighted the work carried out by the Cacique Maracay Plant, where they have 65 workers with some type of disability, which doubles what is established by law.
“People who have a disability are much more dignified, and much more courageous than some of us who do not have a disability,” he added.
On the other hand, he highlighted the work of the employees who managed to recover the company, which was abandoned in 2019, as part of the destabilizing actions promoted by the right.
“Just as they recovered a company, this is how the economy of Venezuela has been recovering, the economy is recovering to recover the welfare state that this revolution has given to everyone,” he concluded.
On January 24, the National Assembly (AN) approved in ordinary session this Tuesday, in second discussion, the Bill for Workers and Workers with Disabilitieswhose objective is to support and guarantee social justice, inclusion, protection, defense and comprehensive care in the sector.
The president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, declared the rule sanctioned inasmuch as he ordered the text to be sent to the National Executive, for the purpose of its promulgation, in accordance with the provisions of article 213 of the Constitution.
