A total of 5,729 panels of marijuana were unearthed from the shores of the beaches of Caimare Chico, Guincua sector, Bolivarian indigenous municipality of Guajira, Zulia’s border with Colombia.
Details of the procedure were aired on the Instagram account of the Strategic Operations Group (Goes), attached to the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace. The report explains that agents from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) also participated in this procedure.
Intelligence work led officials to the site where the marijuana shipment was buried. Thus, equipped with picks and shovels, the agents unearthed 107 bales containing 5,729 panels “of plant remains of the Cannabis sativa plant, commonly known as marijuana,” says the released report.
The cache had a gross weight of 2,864 kilos and 5 grams.
“With these actions, the Venezuelan state in perfect popular-military-police fusion ratifies its commitment to the frontal fight against illicit drug trafficking,” reports Goes.
This is the second procedure with a larger amount of drug seizure that has occurred in the last three weeks. Four days ago, Cicpc agents seized in La Grita (Táchira) 24 bags of narcotic substances with a total weight of 567,001 kg, distributed between cocaine and marijuana, the police report says.
This procedure was carried out by police officers when they carried out an operation to inspect cargo and public transport vehicles. That’s when officials observed a private car that tried to escape.
Given this circumstance, the Cicpc agents began a chase that culminated with the collision of the suspect vehicle against a flatbed truck, the scientific police stated in the report.
During the operation, officials apprehended the driver and seized other elements of criminal interest.
And last Carnival Tuesday, GNB officials assigned to the Citizen Service Point located in Paracotos (Miranda), seized 55 panels of cocaine.
The stash was transported hidden in a double bottom designed in a public transport unit. The drug weighed 57 kilos 672 grams, the report says.
Another anti-drug procedure was carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Peracal, Simón Bolívar municipality (San Antonio del Táchira), where a woman was detained who was transporting 470 marijuana seeds hidden in her private parts.
The woman came from Colombia and was headed to Barquisimeto (Lara), according to a report posted on the Instagram account of the GNB’s Zone 21 Command.
Private
In another procedure, the Public Ministry charged three men for their alleged involvement in aggravated illicit trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the form of distribution, concealment and transportation; association to commit crimes and smuggling.
In that case, the defendants were identified as Anderson Loyo, Anthony Linares and Adrián Pérez, who were detained in Carabobo. From these people they seized 135 units of 2CB (tussi), 6 containers of 10 ml (popper) and 35 mini-packages of cocaine. They carried all that cargo hidden in a vehicle, says the Prosecutor’s Office report.
Five years of Sunad
”The fight against drugs is not only a government responsibility, but a joint effort between institutions, communities and families for the healthy development of the nation,” Major General Danny Ferrer Sandrea, who heads the National Anti-Drug Superintendence (Sunad), wrote on his broadcast networks.
Ferrer Sandrea recalled that five years ago, that is, on 2/18/21, through presidential decree No. 4,432, the National Anti-Drug Office (ONA) became the National Anti-Drug Superintendency, according to Official Gazette No. 42,070. They recalled that Minister Diosdado Cabello always says that “Venezuela will not be a territory for the passage of drugs.”
