A police contingent arrived at Epizana to unblock the Cochabamba – Santa Cruz highway. The troops used chemical agents to achieve their objective.
The blockade had been installed on Monday morning, against the possible arrest of the former president Evo Morales and the issuance of at least three supreme decrees by President Luis Arce.
According to Radio Kawsachun Coca, the protesters left the place due to the chemical agents used by the police officers. What’s more, according to the images they shared, a forest fire is recorded in the sector.
The report of the blockades installed in favor of Evo
According to the report of the Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo: “There are nine blocking points (throughout the country), However, we must state that a police contingent has advanced from the department of Cochabamba, another from the department of Santa Cruz, which has cleared around three blocking points.”
He added: “Sending a police force from the department of Chuquisaca to Cochabamba is also being analyzed. We cannot continue, for personal interests, sacrificing the different departments. Therefore, we are going to make use of all the tools we have.”.

For their part, the intercultural groups of Cuatro Cañadas announce the blockade of the highway that connects Santa Cruz with Beni and Chiquitania, starting from zero hours this Thursday, October 17, in compliance with the determination of the Unity Pact of the Evista wing.
