A group of rescuers was working this Thursday to save a 9-year-old boy who has been trapped since Tuesday in a 25-meter-deep well in the town of Shokak, Zabul province, southeast Afghanistan, it was officially reported.
“A team is there with an ambulance, oxygen and other necessary things” to help the minor, whose “health is good and asks for food and water”said Abdullah Azzam, secretary to Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar.
Until now, the circumstances in which the boy fell into the dry well were not disclosedaccording to the AFP agency.
The accident is reminiscent of the one that recently occurred in Morocco with little Rayan, 5 years old, who fell into a dry well and was found dead five days later causing an international uproar.
This Thursday, Through videos released by social networks that were obtained by a camera lowered with a rope to the place, the Afghan boy named Haidar was seen dressed in a blue sweater trapped at the bottom of the well, with his back against the wall, visibly moving his arms and upper body.

They also specified that in one of the videos the boy is heard crying and moaning, and in another he is heard talking to his father.
“Haidar, talk to me, we are trying to get you out. Are you okay, my son? Talk to me and don’t cry, we are working to get you out,” the father tells him.
“Okay, I’m going to keep talking,” replies the minor.
At the scene, rescuers used bulldozers to dig large trenches in the earth and try to access the well.
While, emergency teams “are working to ensure that the child is not harmed by the collapse of the well,” Ahmadullah Wasiq, a spokesman for the ruling Taliban, said on Twitter.
And he added that “the Ministry of Defense is ready to send material by helicopter if necessary.”
