A transfer of $5 million from the Ministry of the Presidency received the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), in order to carry out the complete digitization of the National Pharmacy and Drugs Directorate of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
This was reported by the director of the AIG, Luis Oliva, who assured that the digitalization of the Pharmacy and Drugs system will help optimize the process of sanitary registration and importation of medicines for distributors.
Oliva assured that they are working on the suggestions presented at the technical work table that was created to address the shortage of medicines, with a view to integrating the Minsa and the Social Security Fund (CSS) systems and identifying the shortage of medicines, or if this shortage will occur, in order to prevent this from happening.
“As AIG, we are helping so that the two systems (Minsa and CSS) can be intertwined and have information for decision making,” Oliva said.
On the 130 medicines declared in critical shortage in the CSS, the general director of Public Procurement, Raphael Fuentes, said he had the list to summon national and international suppliers to the first online tender; This, after the approval of the Executive Decree that regulates purchases due to critical shortages of medicines or pharmaceutical products declared in that condition.
