In a statement, the Ministry of Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC) reported that, derived from a citizen complaint, an operation was carried out in the town of below that allowed the release of the victim.
“Intelligence and research work were carried out, as well as operational actions with air and land surveillances in the municipality of Culiacán for their location. With this and in follow -up to a citizen complaint where they reported the presence of a group of strongly armed men aboard two vehicles, security agents were mobilized to the area,” the agency explained.
“When implementing a security device, the troops released the person deprived of their liberty, which belonged to a opposite faction of a criminal group and arrested five subjects.”
According to the investigations, the detainees planned to deprive the victim of life.
Federal forces arrested Jesús Javier Valdés Vega, 31; Jesús Abraham Cruz García, 28; Lamberto Ayón Urías, 28; Osvaldo Trinidad Carrera, 18; and a 16 -year -old.
These people were assured six long weapons, 21 loaders, 21,000 useful cartridges, eight ballistic vests, two vehicles and 16 ballistic plates.
The victim is the son of an alleged member of the Sinaloa Cartel who was arrested on July 19 in Sinaloa, but who was released days later by decision of a federal judge.
“The detainees linked to a criminal group were read their rights and together with the insured they were made available to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal situation,” added the SSPC.
“As long as the liberated person was given medical attention and was guided to submit their corresponding complaint with the competent authority.”
Since September 2024, in Culiacán and other areas of Sinaloa, a fight between two groups of the same cartel began: “Los Chapitos” and “Los Mayos”.
This internal dispute, detonated by the arrest of the Ismael Capo “El Mayo” Zambada in the United States, for an alleged betrayal of “Los Chapitos”, has left more than 1,500 homicides in the entity.
