San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chis., Eight people with long weapons entered the facilities of the Pichucalco municipal palace yesterday, stole the payroll and murdered a local police officer, reported the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
In a statement, he explained that around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, the subjects arrived on motorcycles, entered the building, threatened the staff and took them to the treasury area, from where they took the payroll. They then fled in a van. The thieves took about 2 million pesos, which shortly before agents of the Municipal Police had withdrawn and transferred to the offices of the council. The FGE explained that during the pursuit of the alleged perpetrators, the municipal police officer Edi Hari N was shot to death. One of the assailants was arrested.
