President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo signed the decree reforming secondary laws to protect women in Mexico. In the afternoon, through the evening edition of the Official Gazette of the Federationdecrees aimed at eradicating the wage gap were published, as well as adjustments to secondary laws regarding protection measures and women’s right to a life free of violence.

Yesterday morning, a call was made to state governments and congresses to harmonize their local laws with the constitutional reforms promoted by the federal president in favor of women and that were recently approved by the Congress of the Union.

The conference also presented the progress of the Rita Cetina scholarship for basic education students. The head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Mario Delgado, explained that more than 4 million families have registered for this support and that the delivery of cards will begin on January 20.

There are four very important axes of these secondary laws that protect and strengthen girls, boys and women in our country, strengthening their rights. Today, women in Mexico have a legal framework that supports them and now, it is our turn to make all of this a reality in Mexico, and for the states to adhere to these great reforms to protect women..

The head of the Executive assured that the nation is perhaps one of the countries with greater progress in legislation protection and rights of women.

She exemplified that with these regulations, particularly the wage gap, if a woman currently does not have the same salary as a co-worker who performs the same task or function, she may go to the Ministry of Labor to complain, because It is legislated so that they earn the same.

The legal advisor of the Federal Executive, Ernestina Godoy, called on the Congresses and governments of the states to begin the processes of harmonization of their constitutions and local laws to guarantee the protection and other rights of women at all levels, after the Power Legislative approved the constitutional reforms sent at the beginning of October by the federal president.
