For its part, the Congressional Oversight Commission summoned the now former driver of the ‘box’ for Wednesday the 30th in order to answer questions about this case.
As is known, an investigation by the Punto Final program showed that the ‘chest’ would have traveled without police protection of any kind in the last days of February right in an area where, a month before, a police operation was carried out to arrest the fugitive Vladimir Cerron.
Evidence shows the route that the chest followed along the Panamericana Sur on February 24 and 25. In this regard, the Executive does not offer reasonable explanations because “it would affect national security.”
According to the investigation, the presidential car crossed the road south of Lima on February 24, escorted by patrol cars from the National Police and two trucks from the Ministry of the Interior. Even a motorcycle points the way.
However, the next day in the morning, according to information provided by the Rutas de Lima toll company, the ‘chest’ passes only through box number 8 of the toll in Punta Negra. The other vehicles that escorted the presidential car the day before were not there.
Added to this is the testimony of Jesús Poma, lawyer of the presidential driver, who assures that his client left the president Dina Boluarte on February 24 at the Mikonos condominium, located on the beaches of Asia, where the Police carried out the search. operation to search for Vladimir Cerrón.
THEY DIDN’T ALLOW HIM TO STATE
At first, in the midst of the investigations into the alleged use of the president’s car (the ‘chest’), for the escape of Vladimir Cerrón, and the summons of the driver, the Minister of the Interior announced that he will not appear before Congress.
The Minister of the Interior refused at that time, stating that “it is not appropriate for the officers in charge of implementing the Government Palace Security Plans to provide information regarding the acts carried out there.”
Now, Congress has summoned Félix Montalvo Guevara again to clarify the situation.
