Three criminals were convicted after running over and killing two people in La Blanqueada, while fleeing from the police, reported sources from the Prosecutor’s Office.
The troops were chasing a van in which the now condemned were traveling. In the middle of the chase, the criminals collided with a motorcycle and caused the death of the two passengers: a 31-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, the three men in the van — reported as stolen since September 9— had a record and were arrested after the traffic accident. It was about a 29-year-old man with “four records for theft and robbery,” and two 24-year-old men, one with a record for theft and the other for reception.
All three were sentenced by abbreviated trial. One of them five years and six months for culpable homicide, resulting in death. The other two were convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery. One to two years and two months in prison; while the other —which had a minor participation— 24 months: six in effective prison and 18 on probation.
