The Technical Agency of the Administration of Sanitation Services (Otass) and EPS Emapab sent a 9,000-gallon tanker truck to guarantee the supply of drinking water in order to overcome the landslides generated by the rains in the province of Bagua, in the Amazon region.
It should be noted that, as a result of the rains, the pipelines of the sanitation company were also affected, making it difficult to supply from the Amojao source, so the technicians in the operations area proceeded to use an alternate source. .
“We work with regional and local authorities to meet the needs of the population that is going through emergency situations due to the rains, especially with regard to the distribution of drinking water to affected families.”, said the executive director of Otass, Héctor Barreda.
Creek Cleaning
It should be noted that Otass officials and the utility company implement contingency actions to assist with the distribution of drinking water to the residents of 10 towns located in the highlands: La Primavera, El Carmen, 2 de Mayo, San Juan, Brujopata , Nuevo Santa Rosa, La Palmira, El hamlet Casual, upper and lower Achahuia, affected by landslides.
Likewise, despite the fact that the rains continue, so the landslides are constant and prevent access to the roads, which are impassable, the technicians implement cleaning actions in the La Peca stream, which will allow an increase of 30 to 70 liters per second, the production capacity of drinking water.
