The Prefecture found at least 200 kilos of cocaine hidden in bags inside a ship which was in transit in the Port of Montevideoconfirmed to The Observer from the National Army.
In a first count of the bags, the figure of 170 kilos was reached, but later, in a more exhaustive search, more drugs were found.
As reported by Telenoche, the ship had as final destination Tenerife, Spain, and one planned stopover in the port of Santos, in Brazil.
The case was taken up by the Narcotics Prosecutor, Monica Ferrero, They pointed out from the Prosecutor’s Office.
Telemundo, for its part, reported that Ferrero ordered the arrest of several of the ship’s crew, who will testify in the coming hours.
In addition to the Prefecture, the National Customs Directorate also participated in the operation.
