They seized 27 sacks of drugs on the Venezuela-Martinique maritime border

A total of 1,496 kilos of marijuana were seized at the Venezuela-Martinique maritime border, reported General Richard López, director of the National Anti-drug Superintendence (Sunad).

Through his networks, López explained that the operation was carried out through an international cooperation mechanism between the Government of Venezuela and that of France, through the National Anti-drug Command, Command of Zone 71 (Nueva Esparta) and the Unit of French Army Sea.

The drug shipment was inside the Venezuelan flag fishing vessel El Lirico, intercepted 100 nautical miles within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Venezuela.

The military seized 27 sacks, which totaled 1,496 kilos of marijuana and a cocaine wrapper, weighing one kilo 100 grams. The total drug is 1,497 kilos 100 grams.

In said procedure, the apprehension of the boat crew of Venezuelan nationality, identified as Nervic José Zabala, Miguel Ángel Aguiar, Alfredo Javier Salazar Zabala, Marlo José Brito Brito, Orlando José Hernández Hernández, Delwin Jesús Velázquez Narváez, Leonardo del Jesús Rodríguez Medina, Víctor Ramón Vásquez Marín, Jean Frank Mata Narváez, Edward José Gómez Rodríguez and Jesús Manuel León Narváez.

The aforementioned vessel was delivered by Frigate Captain Matthieu Ruf, commander of the French Frigate Ventose (F733), on the border between Venezuela and Grenada.

Subsequently, the vessel was transferred in the AB Yavire GC-22 Litoral Surveillance Ship of the Bolivarian Navy Commanded, by Frigate Captain Julio Pernía Sosa, to El Morro Valdez Port, between Sucre and Nueva Esparta.

The procedure was notified to the Public Ministry.
