On January 9, the 4th Antiterrorist Court granted a precautionary measure that released Oswaldo José Cheremos Carrasquel. Such a measure was requested by his private lawyers during the preliminary hearing on January 9. On that occasion, the Public Ministry opposed but did not formalize any appeal to stop the measure that put Cheremos Carrasquel on the streets, a source explained.
With the granting of the precautionary measure, the Court ordered the opening of a free trial against the defendant for concealment in the crime of terrorism, association and illegal trafficking of arms and ammunition. These crimes were committed after it was detected that the subject allegedly provided weapons to the Tren del Llano cell that operates in eastern Guárico, according to investigations.
Cheremos Carrasquel is a member of the Tren del Llano, according to what General Domingo Hernández Lárez, head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, reported on his Twitter account.
Hernández Lárez attached photos of the six weapons and 182 cartridges seized from Cheremos Carraquel the day he was arrested (October 21, 2022) in a farm whose ownership is attributed to him, located in the Los Recortes sector, San José de Unare parish, Pedro Zaraza municipality, Guárico.
