A total of 189 panels of cocaine were seized in Santa Bárbara de Barinas, reported General Alberto Matheus, head of the National Anti-Drug Command of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The cargo was transported in the side and roof compartments of an Encava-type public transport unit, license plate 561AA3D, coming from San Cristóbal (Táchira) bound for Barinas.
Said vehicle was inspected by members of the GNB attached to the Citizen Service Point located in Santa Bárbara de Barinas. The drug yielded a total weight of 222 kilos, Matheus said.
During this procedure, Robinson Johan Esquivel Fajardo and Evany Yovany Hernández Galvis were detained.
The Public Ministry was notified of the procedure.
General Matheus commented that this criminal proceeding is part of the strategy of the Tancol groups (Colombian Drug Trafficking Armed Terrorists) of “using our territory as a springboard for drug trafficking.”
