Through two anti-drug operations carried out in the province of Colón, the authorities managed to seize more than 2,000 packages of drugs.
According to Eduardo Rodríguez, anti-drug prosecutor of Colón and Guna Yala, these operations were carried out in the last 24 hours, in conjunction with the National Aeronaval Service and part of the United States Coast Guard.
The first operation took place in a port in Colon, where it was possible to intercept an illicit load of 501 packages of drugs that would have Sweden as their final destination. The second occurred through a coastal patrol, where they stopped a speedboat where 4 people of Colombian nationality were traveling and 2,267 packages of alleged drugs were seized.
Rodríguez stressed that these actions are part of the operational tasks carried out by the drug prosecutor’s office in conjunction with the security forces, which to date have allowed the seizure of 14,300 kilos of drugs.
Confiscation in Coclé
In another operation, Deputy Commissioner Ricauter Castillo, of the National Aeronaval Service, said that together with the United States air force, 54 packages with 1,070 packages of alleged illicit substance were seized south of Farallón, Coclé province.
He explained that so far this year in 29 operations he has managed to seize 23 thousand 266 packages of illicit substances.
