The Prefecture and personnel of the National Customs Directorate seized this Friday in the Port of Montevideo 200 kilos of drugs from Brazil, according to reports info capital (Tv Ciudad) and confirmed The Observer based on prosecutorial sources.
The drug was inside two trucks that were traveling on a ship from Brazil. The investigators presume that it is cocaine, and they worked this Friday afternoon in the operation to confiscate the substance.
This seizure is part of an investigation that prosecutor Mónica Ferrero had been carrying out.
It is the cargo ship “Grande Nigeria” of the Italian flag that transports containers and vehicles, the National Navy reported in a statement.
Prosecutor Ferrero, the Minister of National Defense, Javier García, and the National Naval Prefect, José Luis Elizondo, were at the scene.
