Agents of the Bolivarian National Police arrested three members of the Los Zacarías criminal gang, an organization involved in multiple illicit activities.
According to initial reports, the detainees are identified as Luis Manuel Flores Salazar (41), Isaac Miguel Custodio Silva (32) and Edgar Ramón Ramírez Flores (28) from whom two assault rifles were seized.
The arrest of these people took place in the Industrial Zone of Maturín (Monagas) where commissions from the Division against Kidnapping and Extortion of the Monagas state police as well as the Directorate of Aquatic Spaces of the Bolivarian National Police were deployed.
In the La Burra Mocha sector, Francisco Javier Pulgar municipality (Pueblo Nuevo-El Chivo), Zulia, military agents detained Yohandry Rafael Urdaneta Márquez, who was wandering around the aforementioned place armed. The officials seized from Urdaneta Márquez a 12-gauge shotgun, twelve cartridges of the same caliber and a radio transmitter, according to information posted on the social networks of Domingo Hernández Lárez, head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb).
Hernández Lárez specified that said arrest was carried out within the framework of Operation Fragmentary Order No. 15-25 (Catatumbo Lightning) that is carried out in the Binational Peace Zone No. 1.
Another military procedure carried out in Zulia was carried out in the Los Haticos and La Andinita sectors of the Cristo de Aranza parish, Maracaibo municipality, where they detained a man from whom they confiscated war material.
In this case, the material held includes an M16 5.56 mm caliber assault rifle, two 60 mm mortar grenades, a blue smoke grenade, a mortar, an AR15 supplier, thirteen 5×56 mm ammunition, a telephone equipment, 2 bulletproof vests, a camouflaged tactical jacket and a waterproof camouflage tent, says the report published on the Instagram account of the head of Ceofanb.
The arrest of the subject was carried out by military personnel assigned to the Military Intelligence Division of Zone Command No. 11 Zulia of the GNB. “The detainee, according to preliminary investigations, was in charge of keeping the irregular groups of the military commissions deployed in the area of the South of the Lake informed, to eradicate these criminals who intend to alter the peace of the Republic,” Hernández said.
And in the La Popa sector, Ayacucho municipality (San Juan de Colón), Táchira, the military seized a 16 mm caliber shotgun, a 7.62×39 mm caliber projectile, a cell phone, a camouflaged flannel and a scarf, used by irregular groups.
