staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) arrested two citizens in Zulia state from whom 12 kilograms of cocaine were seized. The drugs were hidden in a parcel package from the Liberty Express company. This was reported by the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez.
In a message posted on his Twitter account, he explained that the package containing the cocaine was impregnated with candle wax, and was transported in a vehicle that they intended to introduce into the national territory.
«In Zulia, 2 subjects were detained and a vehicle transporting 12 kg of cocaine from the Liberty Express parcel company was seized, which was trying to introduce into the national territory in a package impregnated with candle wax. Venezuela in the fight against drugs,” he said on Twitter.
FANB detains two subjects in Zulia with weapons
In another proceeding in the state of Zulia, two Colombian citizens with possession of firearms and hand grenades were also arrested.
In this regard, Hernández Lárez specified that the subjects are part of the criminal gang that plagues the Colombia-Venezuela axis.
In this regard, he reiterated that only the Venezuelan State can possess and use weapons of war.
“In Zulia #FANB detains 2 individuals of Colombian nationality, members of the armed criminal gang that plagues the Colombia-Venezuela cross-border axis, with possession of firearms and hand grenades. Only the State can possess and use weapons of war,” he posted on Twitter.
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces remains firm in its frontal fight against drugs and any action that threatens the sovereignty and tranquility of the people.
Since the end of 2021, the FANB increased its security operations throughout the national territory, especially in the border regions with the firm purpose of ending Colombian drug trafficking groups.
