In April, May, June and July 2022, virtual and face-to-face meetings were held where training was carried out aimed at participatory work and the preparation of inputs for the policy by the members of the technical tables and the GIRD Cabinet.
With the purpose of promoting guidelines, national policies, strategic plans and programs to comprehensively reduce disaster risks and promote the economic, social, health, cultural and educational resilience of Panamanian society, a meeting was held of the Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Cabinet (GIRD) together with local and Provincial governments.
These meetings in the provinces seek to provide feedback on progress and define steps to follow to finalize the preparation of the first draft of the National Disaster Risk Management Policy of Panama.

This new face-to-face activity in the provinces is coordinated by the GIRD Cabinet, AMUPA and ADALPA with the support of the World Bank, in collaboration with the BHA/USAID and RET project “Strengthening Comprehensive Disaster Management at the local level in Panama.”
