A proposal has been presented in Congress to generate employment at the level of the youths between 15 and 29 years old who neither study nor work.
The legislative initiative, which was presented by Renovación Popular, proposes the creation of a subprogram at the national level that would depend on the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) and that would be called Chambita Joven.
The proposed program would form part of the National Program for Employability, which has absorbed other similar ones, such as Jóvenes Productivos and Impulsa Perú.
In addition, the bill also proposes to develop the program through the respective areas of the regional and municipal governments.

Youth unemployment
Youth unemployment is currently above the average in the capital (7.6%), since in the quarter from September to November it affected 15.9% of the economically active population between the ages of 14 and 24, according to the latest report from the Institute. National Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
Said unemployment rate was also the highest since the first quarter of the year (January-March).
The report also showed that unemployment was more pronounced among women, since it affected 9.8%.
On the other hand, at the level of men the rate decreased, comprising only 5.8%.
