Authorities from Paraguay and the Republic of China (Taiwan) met in search of expanding the Taiwanese market to Paraguayan products and diversifying investment in our country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that The national foreign minister, Julio César Arriola, held a videoconference this Friday with his counterpart from the Republic of China (Taiwan), Joseph Wu Jaushieh, in order to make a general review of the bilateral agenda between both countries.
On the occasion, both parties reaffirmed their firm commitment to continue strengthening the excellent ties of friendship and cooperation existing between the two nations.
Likewise, the Taiwanese Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the achievement of the recent opening of the pork market for Paraguay and affirmed that this is a sign of the importance of the growing commercial exchange between our nations.
In that sense, Minister Wu highlighted his government’s willingness to continue working to open up his country’s market to other Paraguayan agricultural products, as well as the diversification of Taiwanese investments in our country towards areas such as transportation, energy and food processing.

Secondly, both parties highlighted the cooperation that Taiwan grants to Paraguay in crucial areas such as education, housing solutions, infrastructure, security, defense, and health.
The Taiwanese Foreign Minister recognized and thanked Paraguay for its constant support in the different multilateral spaces, appreciating the commitment that our country maintains in this regard.
Both ministers agreed on the importance of continuing to work together and make their voices heard in different forums and international organizations, since both Paraguay and Taiwan have great potential to contribute positively to progress and world development.
