The Government advanced with the process that will facilitate faster access to the Single and Free Exchange Market (MULC) for the purchase of dollars, to those companies that adhere to the Fair Prices program, and thus addressed one of the main claims of the private sector for sign the agreement that sets the values of 2,000 products until the end of February.

Official sources confirmed to Télam that the Committee of the Import System of the Argentine Republic (SIRA) approved a regulation that ensures companies that adhere to Fair Prices, “immediate access” to foreign currency to pay for their imports.

“In the framework of agreements for Fair Prices, it was established to facilitate companies that enter the agreement an acceleration of their scheduled imports. This means that, if a company had a certain amount of imports scheduled to cover its inputs, upon entering the agreement access those dollars faster. They are not giving them more than they ask for, but accelerating access,” the sources explained.

They also stressed that “For this, they must first enter the agreement”and they pointed out that “in this way, the aim is to guarantee stock of the products, one of the points that has historically complicated this type of agreement.”

With this decision to advance in accelerating access to dollars for companies that sign agreements to be part of the Fair Prices program, one of the claims made by the private sector in recent days is fulfilled.

“In this way, it seeks to guarantee stock of the products, one of the points that has historically complicated this type of agreement”Official sources of the National Government

More precisely, the Coordinadora de Industrias de Productos Alimenticios (Copal) included, in a document that it delivered to the Secretary of Commerce this week, the request to guarantee access to the dollars at the official exchange rate required by each company to be able to advance and pay immediately during November, each of the imports of goods and services that you usually do.

Within this framework, Copal also stated that throughout the period that Fair Prices lasts -until now it would arrive at the end of February- it will be necessary to take into account if there is a significant variation in the most relevant costs of the company, that is, , of raw materials, in the midst of a still conflict scenario in Europe that has an impact on the values of commodities.

In addition, he pointed out that care must be taken to ensure that there is no relevant variation in the reference interest rate of the Central Bankas well as inflation and the devaluation of the official exchange rate.

In the same document, Copal requested that it be taken into account if there are also changes in joint agreements, and asked Commerce to ensure compliance with the seven-day payment term to supplier companies by supermarkets.

For his part, SIRA is the new import administration mechanism that was implemented on October 17 last and that, now, allows greater coordination between areas of the Government -Central Bank, Customs, Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) and Commerce- when executing price policies and managing the available dollars.

“The great challenge is that no Argentine company that produces, that generates work and goods with Argentine added value, lacks dollars”Sergio Massa

To ensure compliance and strengthen coordination, Commerce also began working with agreements with the main industries that are part of the food production branch, such as those that manufacture glass, aluminum, cardboard and plastic, as well as petrochemicals.

Precisely, last Wednesday the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, assured a group of businessmen gathered in the General Economic Confederation (Cgera) that the “great challenge is that no Argentine company that produces, that generates work and valuable goods Argentine attaché, lacks dollars”, and said that he will prioritize “the system, at least with the dollars from the Central Bank.
