The Gender Equality Commission of the Jujuy Legislature issued a consensus dispatch from the different political spaces for the future treatment of the adherence to the national law of trans labor quota, and the LGTIBIQ+ provincial groups considered that this would be “paying off a debt history with the Jujuy collective”.
The Jujuy legislators indicated that “the different projects” that have to do with adherence to the National Trans Labor Quota Law are being analyzed, while they are advancing with a project against street harassment.
The deputy of the Frente de Todos-PJ Patricia Armella explained that in reference to the future adherence to legislation in favor of trans groups “A consensual dispatch was drawn up and turned over to the Institutional Affairs Committee.”
“We are going to continue citing and inviting the different organizations that work with the different themes, since we believe that The work is not finished with the adherence to the trans labor quota law, but also how this law is executed, and what are the demands that the different organizations have”he explained.
In order for the law to be effectively enforced, there must be “controlWe need the power of civil society, who are the ones who can inform the different departments of the executive, so that it works as established by law,” he specified.
In this context, the leader of the Damas de Hierro group, Dayra Vigabriel, told Télam that if adherence to Law 27.636 on the Promotion of Access to Formal Employment for Transvestites, Transsexuals and Transgender People is approved, “a historical debt would be settled with the compañeras who are no longer here and those of us who continue to fight for our rights”.
On this point, he emphasized that the “massive marches” and “the serious situation of vulnerability of trans people in Jujuy, were somehow taken into account if the debate in Parliament is achieved.”
“I hope that the approval of the national law will be dealt with soon and not just words”he maintained and explained that it is “Imperative” that the more than 150 trans women in the provincial capital and the interior of the province “can access decent work,” he concluded.
