Santiago. – The National Central of Transport Workers (CNTT), and the Executing Unit for the Readjustment of Neighborhoods and Environments (URBE), formed a dialogue table this Thursday, in order to seek solutions for dozens of drivers from the city of Santiago and the Cibao region, moments in which the new monorail collective transport system and the cable car are built, to readjust the service.
In the meeting led by the president of the CNTT, Juan Marte, and the engineer Jhael Isa, director of the Office for the Development of Urban and Interurban Mobility Projects, they agreed to hold permanent meetings with different groups of transport leaders and companies, to follow up on the works and coordinate activities with the routes that operate in the vicinity of the Hermanos Patiño bridge, an area that has been intervened to make way for the construction of the cable car and the monorail.
Marte also specified that during the meeting they addressed the search for solutions for drivers operating routes in areas that will later be intervened by URBE, on the route where the mass transportation work is carried out.
“For our part, we aspire to dialogue and agreement, so that the working man who has decided to fight instead of stealing is taken into account, especially at times when crime has grown exponentially and we understand that whoever has If you have decided to work honestly, you must be treated with respect and given guarantees that you will continue to work” stated Marte.
The president of the CNTT reiterated that the union is committed to agreement as a way for the city to continue developing and growing, that Santiago’s transport continues to develop, so that the fundamental actors who are drivers, route operators and investors , be a participant and beneficiary of that development, to which he guaranteed they will continue betting.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the CNTT, where representatives of the different affiliated routes also participated, who work on the route in which the monorail and the cable car are built, including the unions of Tamboril and Pedro García, Hato routes del Yaque, Sabana Iglesia, La Sierra, La Canela and San José de las Matas, as well as PA, HV, L, N, U, PC, HB, CA, H, among others.
