Monterey, NL. The Attorney General’s Office of New Lion reported that during the search he carried out on a property belonging to the former governor Jaime Heliodoro “N”in the municipality of Galeana, with the intention of locate evidence or indications of resources of illicit origin, they secured: 2 million 100,000 pesos in cash; 2 safes that are transferred to Monterrey for opening; a 30×30 rifle and a 357 magnum revolver.
It is worth mentioning that the property was also secured by the Prosecutor’s Office to continue the investigation.
As will be remembered, former Governor Jaime Heliodoro “N”, was arrested by the Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Electoral Crimeson March 15, in the municipality of General Terán, by order of a Control Judge.
Later he was admitted to Prison 2 of Apodaca, and the Control Judge linked him to the process and ordered preventive detention as a precautionary measure, because he considered that he allegedly received resources of illicit origin for the electoral campaign when he was launched as a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, which was considered an electoral crime.
“These (search) activities have been carried out in accordance with the parameters established by law to protect due process and guarantee the chain of custody of the evidence collected during the proceedings carried out under the direction of the Public Ministry,” indicates a statement from the prosecution.
He added that the precise details of the investigation will be kept confidential, in accordance with the principle of presumption of innocence and the opportunity for the former president to obtain an appropriate defense in accordance with his constitutional rights.
