Zozobra was experienced in the municipality of Rionegro, Antioquia, because on a main road the authorities inspected an abandoned vehicle, suspected of having explosives.
The Police closed the passage at the height of Las Torres, a road near the José María Córdova International Airport and confirmed with technology and anti-explosive dogs that the vehicle did not represent a threat, in this area of the municipality, where the president arrived late in the afternoon Iván Duque for two events.
Brigadier General Gustavo Franco Gómez, commander of Police Region 6, explained that National Police units that were carrying out their patrol found this abandoned vehicle, therefore, the standardized, technical and professional procedure was applied for these cases.

“Initially using anti-explosive canine units and personnel with technology support to explore said vehicle,” Franco said. In a video circulating on the internet, it is seen that the windows of the vehicle were exploded during the inspection.
“Once said diligence is finished, its owner is present, who indicates that the vehicle had mechanical failures, which is why all inspection of said vehicle is guaranteed and it is determined that there is no situation that affects citizens and it is normalized mobility,” added Franco.

According to Airplan, operator of the José María Córdoba airport, during the verification process, four flights were diverted to Bogotá, but they are already being rescheduled. For now, this air terminal is currently operating normally.
