Police de Canelones found a 29-year-old man lying on the street in Iberia and Alitalia streets, in the Colonia Nicolich area this morning.
As reported by the Departmental Headquarters, he was transferred to the Pando Hospital, where the doctors verified that he had 15 shots to the legs, abdomen and chest, which caused his death.
“At the scene of the incident, several 9mm caliber pods and reddish-brown spots were observed,” the police report described. The victim had four criminal records for the crimes of robbery, theft, receiving and carrying a firearm. The prosecutor of the 2nd Shift of Pando Dra.Yanieri works in the investigation.
In the first quarter of 2023 there were 93 homicides, eight less than in the first quarter of last year, according to figures released by the Ministry of the Interior on Thursday. It was a decrease of 7.9% from the same period of the previous year.
