Mining businessman Jorge Espinoza Gray denounced Zhihua Yang – who held a clandestine meeting with President José Jerí – for alleged illegal mining in the Ricardo 1 concession, located in Hualgayoc, Cajamarca.
Jorge Espinoza denounced through “Fourth Estate”that the company América SAM, linked to the Chinese businessman, hhad operated without authorization from the State or consent of the concession holder, carrying out manganese extractive activities for at least three months.
According to the complaint, the work included the use of explosives and the extraction of minerals without the corresponding permits, which would have generated environmental damage and the illegal theft of resources.
The case is based on a tax file initiated in 2022 and on reports from the Cajamarca Regional Directorate of Energy and Mines, which confirmed the presence of mining activity and machinery in the area.
