The circulation of large vehicles on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway, highway 2 and 5 other Buenos Aires routes in the direction of the City of Buenos Aires (CABA) will be restricted until Sunday midnight to facilitate the return of those who celebrated New Year on the Atlantic coast, it was officially reported.
On Highway 2, the measure affects from kilometer 40.5 of the Buenos Aires-Mar del Plata branch of the Buenos Aires – La Plata Highway to 400 (Camet); and on Provincial Route (RP) 11, from the intersection with RP 36 (Pipinas) to Km 537 (Chapadmalal).
On provincial route 36, large trucks will not be able to circulate from the RP 10 roundabout (Prolongation Av. 66 – La Plata) to the intersection with RP 11 (Pipinas) and along route 56, from its intersection with RP Nº 11 (Gral. Conesa) until its intersection with RP Nº 74 (Gral. Madariaga).
On route 63 the restriction will operate from the Transit Distributor with RP Nº 2 (Dolores) to the intersection with RP 11 (Esquina de Crotto) and on provincial route 74, from its intersection with RP 56 (Maipú) to its intersection with PR 11 (Pinamar).
Buenos Aires Highway specified that the restriction will apply until 11:59 p.m. and vehicles for transporting raw milk, its by-products and associated packaging are excepted; transport of live animals, fish and shellfish, fruit and vegetable products; emergency vehicles; the exclusive transport of press and mobile television units; cranes/assistance to damaged or accident vehicles; transportation of fuel, medicines or solid urban and/or pathogenic waste.
Drivers are advised to drive with low beams on; with the updated VTV; respect the maximum and minimum speeds; put on a seat belt; do not pass another vehicle with the presence of a double yellow line; and have slept and rested before embarking on a trip and not drink alcohol.
