Relatives of the journalist and social activist, who had warned about serious health problems, reported that he is fine.
The National College of Journalists (CNP) reported that the communicator Carlos Julio Rojas had his right to receive visits restored, after four months of isolation in El Helicoide
Relatives reported that the journalist and social activist is in good health, the CNP said in its social networks this November 17th.
His relatives had warned about the journalist’s “serious health problems,” including uncontrolled hypertension. Through social networks, they requested urgent medical attention and held the Venezuelan State responsible for their lives.
Carlos Julio Rojas was arrested on the night of April 15, 2024, while walking with his wife in the La Candelaria parish (center of Caracas), by unidentified individuals. Since then, he has been detained at the El Helicoide headquarters.

The journalist was accused, among other crimes, of attempted assassination.
At least 18 journalists are detained, according to the registry carried out by the National College of Journalists as part of “a systematic policy of intimidation.” The union demanded his immediate release.
The detained communicators are: Carlos Julio Rojas, Ramón Centeno, Carlos Marcano, Juan Pablo Guanipa, Mario Chávez, Juan Alvarado, Nakary Mena Ramos, Gianni González, Rory Branker, Leandro Palmar, Belises Cubillán, Julio Cesar Balza, Ángel Godoy, Roland Carreño, Biagio Pilieri, Víctor Ugas, Gabriel González and Luis López.
