The electric service of The Roman it has been restored by 90 percent after the collapse suffered by the effects left by the passage of the hurricane Fiona in that province.
This is established in a recovery report presented this Saturday to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, by the person in charge of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (Propeep), Neney Cabrera, an institution that coordinates the intervention carried out by the government in the area together with the Government, the mayors and other instances.
In a press release, Propeep indicates that this percentage corresponds to the high-voltage lines and that all the power lines that were knocked down were restored, and between 75 and 80 percent of the low-voltage lines.
He specified that the technicians will continue the work until the total reestablishment of the electrical service in the entire province, in the shortest possible time.
“In the same way it happens with the water, Mr. President, the water is already restored by 80 percent, not in a 24-hour manner, but water reaches all the communities,” said Cabrera.

The official said that a work front has been established to remove the debris caused by the passage of Fiona“and indeed we rented more than 50 yellow pieces of equipment, including dump trucks and mechanical shovels.”

Neney Cabrera said that, regarding the repair and reconstruction of housing roofs, carried out by the Presidential Commission for Neighborhood Development, directed by Rolfi Rojas, “50 brigades have been established that to date have 90 homes repaired in Guaymate” .
He explained that the same is done in the municipality of Villa Hermosa, the municipal districts of Caleta and Cumayasa and the main municipality of The Roman.
He also said that, under the supervision of Propeep, there are 100 brigades of carpenters, workers, public employees and volunteers who provide their services during 12 to 18 hours to restore normality in water and electricity services, garbage and debris collection in the shortest possible time.
In the delivery of his report to President Abinader during a meeting at the headquarters of the Guaymate City Council, in which Governor Fernández, mayors and municipal directors, as well as officials, participated, Neney Cabrera added that in Romana they have 20,000 zinc plates, all his cans, sticks and nails to continue working.
