Six people, reported as missing, were rescued in the mangrove zone in the Captain Chico sector, in the Coquivacoa parish of Maracaibo.
On the morning of Easter Sunday, six adults, according to the Civil Protection report, went into the mangrove forests located in the northern part of the Zulian capital and nobody knew after hikers.
The authorities and rescue officials, detailed that “on the morning of this Sunday, a rescue of six people, all of legal age, was held in mangroves located between Captain Chico and Santa Rosa de Agua with support from two vessels of the largest community.”
The rescued were part of a group of hikers on the Maracaibera coast, trying a holiday adventure, even when they are practically in the perimeter of the city.
Civil Protection in the part, gives the details of the rescuers: “They participated (in the rescue), three officials of the Marine Firefighters Corps by Captain Velásquez and officials of the Lacustrine Body of Polimaracaibo in charge of the 1st official Jesús Castillo and PNB officials in charge of the C2 Nestor Terán and rescuers and civil protection officials.”
