The Institute of Animal Welfare (INBA) rescued this weekend 19 horses, 16 dogs and two donkeys that they were in a “very serious situation of abuse” and in some “terrible well-being” and “sanitary conditions”the agency said in a statement. The animals were taken by the organization Animals Without Homes (ASH), who will work on their recovery.
as he learned The Observerthe rescue was carried out in a piece of land in Maldonado what is owned by a non-governmental organization (NGO) who owned animals.
This organization was investigated two years ago by the INBA, and had received various complaints about your activity. This weekend the organization could verify the situationand managed to seize the animals with the help of the Police, thanks to a new “tool” enabled by the latest Accountability that allows the Institute file a seizure request directly with a judge.
“All the animals were in terrible welfare conditions, including the sanitary ones, some with no chance of surviving”reported the agency, which will continue with the “administrative actions” corresponding to the case against those responsible for the animals.
The Institute highlighted “the excellent performance” of the police officers who assisted in the seizure of the animals, and thanked ASH for hosting the animals.
