A group of rescuers found the body in the area known as El Almacén, near Boca de Laro, Bolívar state.
The boy who was missing in the waters of the Orinoco River after the shipwreck of the curiara in which he was traveling with his mother and stepfather, was found dead on Wednesday afternoon by a group of rescuers in the area known as El Almacén, near of Boca de Laro, belonging to the Bolívar state.
Five days after the search was activated, the body of the minor was located, in an advanced state of decomposition and partially mutilated, presumably by piranhas that devoured the head and extremities.
Of the three people who were traveling on Saturday, May 13, in the boat from Santa Cruz del Orinoco, Monagas municipality of Anzoátegui state, bound for the town of Moitaco in Bolívar state, two bodies have been rescued by the group of volunteers and officials of Civil Protection, Fire Department and the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigation Corps (CICPC).
The body of the mother of the minor Menyori Bellorín Martínez, 26 years old, was recovered on Tuesday in the early hours of the morning.
While Menyori’s partner and stepfather of the five-year-old boy, Viviano Antonio Gutiérrez Pulido (39) has not been located and his relatives fear that they will paralyze the search for the man.
