A two-month-old baby was rescued safe and sound by officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) in the state of Yaracuy.
The rescue took place in the La Bandera sector, Peña municipality, Yaritagua, where Magdalis Vargas (25) was captured, who was the person who took the girl from her mother’s arms in the vicinity of the Yaracuy hospital.
The criminal had pretended to be pregnant and gained the trust of the victim’s mother. When they went to the Passenger Terminal of the Independencia municipality, the mother asked him to help her carry the infant and Magdalis Vargas disappeared due to carelessness, according to the police report.
Humberto Gutiérrez (46), the woman’s partner, and his friend identified as William Rojas (43) were arrested along with Vargas, who intended to take the girl to the city of Caracas.
All were placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office.
