They request the arrest of the president of the Anzoátegui Red Cross for alleged sexual abuse

Alcadio Aguilera, president of the Anzoátegui Red Cross, is wanted for alleged sexual abuse of his seven-year-old stepdaughter. His mother filed a complaint with the Cicpc in July 2022


The Second Court of First Instance in matters of crimes against Women in the state of Anzoátegui issued an arrest warrant against the citizen Alcadio Ramón Aguilera Hernández, who is a gynecologist and serves as president of the Red Cross in the state, for alleged abuse sexual assault committed against a seven-year-old girl.

According to the document, dated February 7, Aguilera Hernández allegedly committed “non-penetrative sexual abuse of a girl and continuing psychological violence.”

The measure against the president of the Red Cross Anzoátegui – and stepfather of the victim – was filed by the mother of the minor in July 2022. The authorities are currently looking for the man, who is evaded from justice and in Venezuelan territory.

By January 18, 2023, seven people were arrested for sexual abuse in those first days of the year, according to the case history of the Public Ministry (MP). The entity specified that of the total of those apprehended, six are men and the seventh is a 14-year-old adolescent.

From January to October 2022, the MP recorded 1,024 cases of pedophilia in the country. This was reported by Tarek William Saab, attorney general imposed by the extinct constituent assembly, who indicated that a total of 1,426 aggressors were charged, 1,831 were accused and 752 sentences were issued.

The NGO Cecodap requested in July 2022 that cases of sexual abuse against minors be investigated, after a case of pedophilia denounced by the Washington Post at that time. in which it was said that priests do not pay their full sentences for child abuse.
