They request that the confidentiality of Juan José Santiváñez's communications be lifted due to audios with 'Culebra'

The Prosecutor’s Office in charge of investigate the Minister of the Interior, Juan Jose Santivañez for the crime of abuse of authority against the State, has requested the Judiciary to lift the confidentiality of communications to the accused, in order to obtain more evidence to contribute to the resolution of the case.

Along these lines, the request asks for a hearing to be held on Thursday, September 26 of this year, in which it will be discussed whether or not to approve the lifting of the confidentiality of communications against the investigated Juan José Santiváñez.

Juan José Santiváñez is in favor of lifting communications

Speaking to the press, the Minister of the Interior expressed his willingness to lift the confidentiality of his communications in order to deny the alleged actions of obstruction of justice in which he is allegedly involved.

“I am voluntarily requesting the lifting of my right to confidentiality of communications, and in addition to that I am requesting that all voice tests be requested,” he said.

Santiváñez audios compromise Dina Boluarte

On August 22, La República published an article entitled “Audios would implicate the president and Santiváñez in a plan to liquidate Diviac“. The note revealed that the captain of the Diviac, Junior Izquierdo, had recorded the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, during a dinner at a restaurant in San Borja, in which he revealed that the president had appointed him to dismantle the police team that was investigating corruption in the Boluarte government.

In the audio, the minister details the conditions for assuming office and the presidential pressures to deactivate the Diviac, a unit that had become uncomfortable due to its investigations related to Nicanor Boluarte, the president’s brother. They also mention the president’s concern for Harvey Colchado.

Days later, in another audio, a conversation between Santiváñez and Izquierdo is heard, where the minister would reveal that Dina Boluarte’s presidential car was used to facilitate Vladimir Cerrón’s escape to Pisco, since, being an official vehicle, it would not be stopped by the National Police.
