The state company installed a new transmitter donated by China to improve digital television in several municipalities of Villa Clara.
LIMA, Peru – The state company RadioCuba, responsible for the distribution of television and radio signals on the Island, reported that it is already installed the new transmitter donated by China so that standard digital television can be seen better in Santa Clara and other Villa Clara municipalities.
“From now on, our clients must reprogram the decoder box on their television and tune to channel 14, however, for several days we will keep the two services on the air, 13 and 14, to facilitate this process,” said Alfredo Cárdenas, provincial director of Radio Cuba.
In case of any difficulty with the television signalthe official recommended that users call and clarify their doubts through telephone numbers 42206157 and 42208311.
“The new transmitter donated by China for standard digital television has greater power and coverage,” said the manager.
To reprogram the decoder box, viewers at home must follow three simple steps: turn on the television and the decoder box; enter the menu or settings of the box by pressing the corresponding button on the remote control; and scan the channels from the “Automatic search” and “Digital TV” options (names may vary depending on the manufacturer).
The announcement received a mixed reaction on social media. Many Internet users left negative comments for the local station that reported the news on Facebook, highlighting the futility of a better signal in the midst of the current energy crisis that the Island lives.
“Many congratulations to everyone who made this possible, but he asked me: with what current are we going to test if it is true that it looks good?” wrote user Eliecer Rodríguez Zamora.
“And what do I do with that if I never have power? My television has cobwebs,” commented Mayelín Díaz Hurtado, another Internet user.
“With what current are we going to watch TV if they only turn on the current for two hours a day and we have been in that situation for more than two years without interruption and without seeing a way out of this very precarious and inhumane situation,” the Khely Sofía profile denounced.
