They report cases of extortion from numbers with the Colombian prefix +57

Through the National Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DNIJ), the National Police has dealt with reports of different cases of extortion attempts by those who claim to be gang members, in most cases it is known that they use the Colombian telephone prefix (+57). .

According to Captain Wladimir González, head of the DNIJ’s Cybercrime Division, the first investigations of these extortion attempts under this modality do not rule out that the calls may also be being made in our country.

Given these facts, the National Police urges the general population to ignore these calls and immediately inform the authorities, calling 104 to receive advice and to prevent these criminals from continuing to profit through deception and threats.

Herrera recommended not providing information of any kind to anyone who calls and not making deposits or money transfers.
