This Tuesday, the country’s media reported the arrest of the mayor of the Cabimas municipality, Nabil Maalouf, around three in the afternoon.
The journalist from the Zulian region Jhorman Cruz published in his account on the social network the alleged moment in which officials of the Bolivarian National Police detained the mayor from his home in the Gran Sabana residential complex, Las Delicias sector of Cabimas.
“The Mayor’s Office was raided by several security teams. There is no clear picture about the reason for the arrest,” Cruz wrote in his publication.
Earlier, he Zulia Regional reported that several officials from different State security forces raided the headquarters of the Cabimas Mayor’s Office and that the workers of the municipal institution had been evicted from around the building.
For its part, on Saturday the arrest of Benito Chirinos and Arelis Ojeda, general director and administrative director of the aforementioned Mayor’s Office, was revealed. According to Jhorman Cruz’s report on social networks, Chirinos was released on Sunday, but Ojeda is still detained.
