Three people were murdered and their bodies were abandoned in a field in a rural area of the municipality of Playa de Belén, in the department of Norte de Santander, the Institute of Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) denounced this Saturday.

The bodies were found in the Aratoque village, in a rural area of Belén Beach, located in Catatumbo, one of the regions where most cocaine is grown in Colombia and with the presence of several armed groups that dispute territorial control.
The victims are three men with gunshot wounds, although their identity is not known at the moment. According to Indepaz, “residents affirm that they were not inhabitants of the area.”
The perpetrators of the massacre are also unknown, although the National Liberation Army (ELN), the Popular Liberation Army (EPL) and local bands.
According to Indepaz figures, this is the massacre number 51 so far this year.
