Glory Promotions withdrew the title of Miss Bolivia Universe to Cochabambina María Fernanda Pavisic Rojas, for breach of contract between the beauty queen and the company, which has organized the pageant for 43 years.
The event occurred after dstatements that Pavisic issued through a video on his social networks, in which he referred to some of the candidates for Miss Universe, a contest in which he was going to participate on January 14. “This is the ladies section, this is the thanks for participating section”, she is seen saying while she reviews the photos of candidates and compares herself with Miss Argentina. “Look at this, Potosí,” she points out and laughs. The material was removed and Pavisic later said that it was a social experiment.
The Mayor’s Office of Potosí filed a complaint against Pavisic by the crimes of racism and discrimination and ordered the representatives of Promociones Gloria to take away the crown or they would be included in the lawsuit.
The document, which circulated yesterday, signed by Ángel Roda Limpias Méndez, president of Promociones Gloria, is refers to the breach of the sixth clause of the contract with Pavisic, a subsection that determines the behavior of beauty queens. Likewise, reproach the “inappropriate expressions about their peer candidates for Miss Universe 2022” and “comments in a mocking tone that allude to women from San Luis Potosí.”
About the decision, the cochabambina expressed his discontent and called the decision unfair assumed by the company. “I have never made racist or discriminatory comments or statements against anyone. It seems unheard of to me that in the arguments it presents for my dismissal, Gloria Promotions repeats proven false accusations, the same ones that abounded on social networks along with insults and grievances against me and my family,” Pavisic said.
“I also think that a very negative precedent is being set for the contest of Miss Universe, because the title is removed from a person for actions that they did not commit, “he added.
Hours after the dismissal, the official portal of Miss Universe and the social networks of Promociones Gloria, indicated that thehe new Miss Bolivia Universe 2022 is María Camila Sanabria Pereyra.
Sanabria, 28, obtained the title of Miss Grand Bolivia in the last edition of the pageant and recently represented the country in the Miss Grand International 2022.
